Céline Dion, the internationally renowned singer, is leaning on the love and support of her family and children in her battle with stiff-person syndrome (SPS), a rare autoimmune disorder. Dion, 56, opened up about her experiences in a recent interview with Vogue France, shedding light on her journey and how she is determined to overcome the challenges she faces.

The Power of Family and Love

In the candid interview, Dion emphasized the importance of the love she receives from her family and children, along with the overwhelming support from her fans and dedicated team. Despite the difficulties posed by her diagnosis, Dion expressed gratitude for her ability to access quality medical care, acknowledging that not everyone affected by SPS has the same luxury.

“People who suffer from SPS may not be lucky enough or have the means to have good doctors and good treatments. I have the means, this is a gift,” Dion shared.

The Unwavering Support of Her Sons

Dion’s sons, 23-year-old René-Charles and 13-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy, have been an immense source of strength for her. During a period when she had to cancel her tour dates and focus on her health, her sons served as her guiding light, offering profound support and love.

“Her main focuses are always her sons and performing. She is the most selfless and considerate person,” a source close to Dion revealed. “Céline just loves her boys so much. They are amazing. They give her all the support and love that she needs.”

As March 15, 2024 marked International Stiff-Person Syndrome Awareness Day, Dion posted a heartfelt photo on Instagram featuring herself alongside her three beloved sons. In the caption, she expressed her commitment to overcoming the challenges posed by her autoimmune disorder, sincerely thanking her kids, family, team, and fans for their unwavering love and support.

“Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible. I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my kids, family, team, and all of you!” Dion wrote.
