The international community celebrated October 24, 2024, the 79th anniversary of the United Nations (UN). In Benin, the celebration was co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the country team of the United Nations System on Friday, October 25 at the Novotel Hotel in Cotonou.
This special night was marked by two speeches: the speech of the Resident Representative of the United Nations System in Benin, Ms. Aminatou SAR and the speech of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Olushegun Adjadji BAKARI. (Editor’s note: we’ll come back to both speeches in more detail)
The audience follows the presentation of a documentary film about the UN after the opening ceremony. According to the Resident Representative of the SNU in Benin, the Seven media professionals, recipients, are now Ambassadors of the SDGs to the SNU in Benin.
Through their pens, microphones and cameras, they will implement sustainable development goals in their productions for more movement before the terrible date planned for 2030; ie six years from maturity.
