The campaign is about supporting runners around the world who want to make a difference. For every kilometer traversed by runners from 28 May-8 June 2021 and recorded on the adidas Running application, adidas and Parley clean up waste equivalent to 10 plastic bottles up to a maximum of 500,000 plastic waste from beaches, remote islands and coastlines.

We are also committed to leveraging adidas platforms, products and aspirations to raise public awareness while taking real action. ,” he explained.
Since 2015, adidas has made more than 30 million pairs of shoes using Parley Ocean Plastic. This material is made from plastic waste collected from beaches and coastal communities so as not to pollute the oceans.

Cyrill Gutsch, CEO and Founder of Parley explains, “More than just a running event or public awareness campaign, ‘Run for the Oceans’ has evolved into a positive impact platform that inspires and supports millions of people around the world. It also aims to protect the oceans through sport and expand the Parley movement through real action,” he explained.
Subsequently, adidas “Own the Game”, “Run For The Oceans” expanded to create a digital and physical community platform. Several brands also carry out environmentally friendly campaigns such as Fendi’s which presents Fendi Basket bags made of recycled materials.
