United Arab Emirates Dubai: In conjunction with the country’s celebrations of Emirati Women’s Day, and in response to the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation “Mother of the Nation”, adopting the 28th of August of each year as Emirati Women’s Day. The Emirates Health Services Corporation is a distinguished virtual forum as part of its festive activities on this occasion.
This initiative aims to honor and celebrate the great achievements of Emirati women in the field of health care, and to provide a platform for the exchange of experiences and knowledge between creative women in this vital field, in addition to highlighting a group of female cadres and leaders who have contributed a major role in developing the health care scene in society.
The forum witnessed the participation of a distinguished group of pioneering women in the field of health, as the event hosted Dr. Sarah Al-Shaya, Acting Director of Data and Statistics Department at the Foundation, Afra Salem, Director of Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah, Dr. Iman Dimas, Specialist in Maternal and Fetal Health Medicine, and Amira Khaja, Director of Centers Primary Health Care in Sharjah, and Dr. Alaa Al Ali, Consultant Orthodontist and Head of the Professional Affairs Department at the Foundation, in addition to Laila Al-Bahri, Assistant Director for Nursing Affairs at Fujairah Hospital.
During the opening speech, Dr. Sarah Al-Shaya congratulated Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates” on this occasion, and congratulated all Emirati women in the country, which has witnessed, during the past decades, remarkable progress in enhancing the role of Emirati women and their participation in all fields, which enabled them to highlight their competencies and creativity in Various fields, whether in the fields of science, medicine, technology, business, politics, the arts, and others, explaining the institution’s keenness to enhance the status of women in the work environment, to highlight the honorable image of their achievements, successes, and their ability to achieve themselves, by providing equal opportunities for women In the field of medicine and health care, which reflects the institution’s commitment to promoting balance and providing equal opportunities for all.
The forum dealt with a range of important topics in the field of health and healthcare, through discussions and presentations. These topics revolved around enhancing the role of women in providing high-quality health care, and their prominent role in developing the health sector in the UAE. The participants also reviewed their careers and exchanged experiences and inspiring stories that they had written during their educational and professional careers in the Emirates Health Services Corporation and its facilities under its umbrella.
