The Goût de France festival returns for a 6th edition focused on the gastronomy of tomorrow. At the initiative of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and Alain Ducasse, and in partnership with the Center-Val de Loire Region, Goût de France 2021 celebrates French gastronomy and its players through a series of events organized in support of the entire industry. In New York, the Consulate General of France has concocted a series of meetings around the gastronomy and know-how of this beautiful French region.

On this occasion, Jérémie Robert, Consul General of France in New York, speaks in our columns. Here is his editorial.

Dear friends,

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the 6th edition of the Goût de France / Good France festival, an unmissable event for our gastronomy around the world, whose sponsor this year is Chef Christophe Hay. From October 14 to 22, you can celebrate our gastronomic heritage in New York through events organized by the Consulate but also by professionals and enthusiasts.

For this new edition, we have chosen to give pride of place to the Center-Val de Loire region, a territory rich in its history but also by the diversity of its landscapes which have enabled it to build up an exceptional gastronomic heritage. We wanted to highlight this link between gastronomy and territory by emphasizing the sustainable aspect of Center-Val de Loire cuisine. You yourself will be able to appreciate the quality of these products during the wine tasting on Saturday October 16 and the Renaissance Dinner on October 22 for which there are still some availability.

This year, we are taking advantage of the event to highlight the all too often forgotten place of female chefs in the world of gastronomy. You will therefore be able to watch, on the Internet and throughout the festival, the documentary “In search of women chefs” by Vérane Frediani. You will also be able to follow the virtual round table hosted by the director on improving the role of women in the world of gastronomy, during which we will have the chance to welcome five talented female chefs to testify about their experience.

My friendships,

Jeremiah Robert
