Our Diocesan Caritas of Teruel and Albarracín meets 60 years of service whose dignity and the right to actively participate in a society that is supposed to be inclusive is reduced. Our Church is living in these moments fully a synodal process, of change with the participation of all. Our Caritas, upon reaching its 60th anniversary, believes that it is appropriate and timely to dedicate a time to discern the paths to follow in the coming years.
Aware of the complexity of reality, of personal and community suffering, but also with esperanza. In order to start this process of reflection and discernment, they have prepared two presentations, to which everyone is invited to attend.
Yesterday, Wednesday May 4, we had the first one, led by Vicente Martín Muñoz, delegate of Cáritas Española, who helped us discover these new paths. In his presentation, our Bishop, commented that these conferences have to give us keys for the future and «The diocesans of Teruel and Albarracín will be the ones who will have to decide where this Caritas should go. Caritas also has to advance, as we parishes and the diocese have to advance, along this synodal path in which we can all contribute«
On the occasion of the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the institution, a reflection document “La Cáritas del siglo XXI” was presented, in which the organizational challenges that the institution faces in the short and medium term are addressed. A document that does not pretend to be definitive, as the director of diocesan Caritas, Juan Marco Deler, pointed out, “in fact it is necessary that each territory of Caritas complement it, and that is what we intend to do” and a strategic plan will be drawn up to the period 2024-2026. And, Juan emphasized, that the celebration of 60 years in our diocese is a good moment to reflect and move forward until the next Caritas.

On May 17th will be the next presentation, entitled “Caritas, building community”, by Aurora Aranda Heras General Secretary of Cáritas Valencia. It will be in the Cloister of the Bishopric at 7:30 p.m.
