Celebrating 50 Years of Art: ‘We in the New Here’ Exhibition at Bottrop Artists’ Association

With its 50th annual exhibition, the Bottrop Artists’ Association is still trendy. “We in the New Here” is the title of the new exhibition, which can be seen in the municipal gallery in the August Everding Cultural Center until October 4th.

The art community brings together 29 members, 21 of whom are taking part in the exhibition with a total of 75 works. They follow very different styles. The range of different painting styles are presented, as are photographs and sculptures. Landscapes and images of nature are the predominant themes in the paintings. Other artists are guided by ancient motifs. Sometimes the images are composed with finely graduated colors; others reflect a real explosion of color on large-format surfaces.

The connection to mining is also honored in the exhibition supported by the Sparkasse. On the first floor there are “silhouette figures” of miners. They were created in 2018 on the occasion of the end of hard coal mining. Three of them have now been redesigned for the exhibition.

The exhibition in the gallery of the August Everding Cultural Center, Blumenstraße, can be seen until October 4th, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
