Celebrating 10 Years: TheDream.US Offers College Scholarships to Dreamers Without DACA for 2020

Every year, TheDream.US organization launches a call to offer becas a ‘dreamers’ and this year’s edition will close on February 29.

With this round, the organization celebrates its first decade of providing aid to university students, which has benefited dozens of people, several of whom attended the tenth anniversary held at the National Museum of American History.

“Applicants from New York are eligible for the National Scholarship, it is for high school graduates or those currently/previously enrolled in college to attend one of the 21 partner universities in New York,” the association confirmed.

Applications are open to undocumented immigrant studentsregardless of whether or not they have DACA or TPS, but arrived in the United States before November 1, 2018.

“The National Scholarship provides tuition and fees of up to $19,500 for an associate’s degree and $39,000 for a bachelor’s degree,” it is clarified.

Gaby Pacheco, president and CEO of TheDream.US, said this effort helps enhance the capabilities of young people.

“As we celebrate our first decade of success, the cornerstone of our work remains ensuring that eligible Dreamers with and without DACA know that our scholarships are available to help them achieve their dreams of finishing higher education and starting their careers,” he said. .

He noted that in the celebration of the organization’s 10 years, the commitment of universities associated with the program was confirmed.

“We thank our partner universities in New York for helping boost the college and career success of Dreamers and encourage eligible New York students to apply before the February 29 deadline,” he urged.

The program has provided more than 10,000 college scholarships in more than 80 partner colleges in 21 states and Washington, DC

“We believe that everyone, regardless of where they were born, should have equal access to a college education, a meaningful career, and opportunities to contribute to the communities they call home,” the organization advocates.
