Celebrate Mexican Independence in New York City with a Free Event at Bryant Park

The Mexican Consulate in New York invited the public to celebrate the Country’s Independence with an event that will take place this coming September 15 in Manhattan.

The celebration will take place starting at 6:00 p.m. at Bryant Park and admission will be free.

In addition to the event, on site you can enjoy typical dishes from different regions of the country.

There will also be live music and crafts for sale.

Among the invited groups are the Mariachi Real de México and the Tlen Huicani group as well as the Calpullu dance company.

The special guest at the celebration will be the Mexican singer and actress Thalía.

The event will be led by Jorge Islas, consul of Mexico in New York.

The Empire State Building will also be illuminated in the colors of the Mexican flag this Friday.

While on Sunday there will be a parade starting at 12:00 pm on Madison Avenue, in Manhattan.

This September 15, Mexico celebrates the 213th anniversary of the Grito de Dolores, a social movement that began the uprising that culminated in the country’s Independence.
