Bio Farma, the holding company for BUMN Pharmaceuticals will celebrate its 133th anniversary on 6 August 2023 with the theme “Delivering Excellence”.
At this age, Bio Farma added a new product milestone by launching the NusaGard vaccine (02/08), a vaccine to prevent the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) virus that causes cervical cancer.
In addition, in the anniversary series, Bio Farma has held the 2023 R&D Festival “CollabInnovate: Advancing Together in Vaccine and Life Science Product Development” (03/08) and Tasyakur Bi Ni’mah “Gratitude, Brilliant Devotion” (04/08) with provide various assistance.
Main Director of Bio Farma, Shadiq Akasya said that coinciding with age, Bio Farma has succeeded in adding a new product milestone, namely the NusaGard Vaccine to support the national immunization program.
“This year the government has started preventing cervical cancer which has become a national immunization program. Every national immunization program launched is basically a prevention effort to protect the nation. Bio Farma will continue to be committed to meeting the needs of government program vaccines. Currently we have also supported the national vaccine program, there are 13 vaccines. We thank the Government, BPOM, and all stakeholders who have supported so that the provision of vaccines for cervical cancer goes well.” Sadiq said
Sadiq is sure that by working together, Bio Farma can support the target of eliminating cervical cancer by 2030. “Bio Farma is a strategic partner of the government. We have a target, by 2030 to eliminate cervical cancer and I am sure that with our joint hard work, we can definitely reduce the incidence of cervical cancer in Indonesia through vaccination and early detection of cervical cancer.”
Bio Farma also has a diagnostic kit called CerviScan. This innovation by the nation’s children is an early detection tool for HPV infection which causes cervical cancer only through urine.
“Currently, the public can get CerviScan facilities in 54 laboratories spread across various parts of Indonesia,” he added.
In addition, as a form of gratitude for increasing age and all the achievements that have been obtained, Bio Farma held a Bini’mah Tasyakur “Gratitude, Brilliant Devotion” which was held on Friday, 4 August 2023 by providing various assistance, including handing over scholarships worth Rp. 1,500,000,000, Community Empowerment Program Assistance for ECO-Forestry and Edu Tourism Community Groups in Pada Maju, Cipada Village worth IDR 290,000,000, Rutilahu House Renovation for Marbot and Koran Teachers worth IDR 400,000,000 from Bio Farma’s Zakat Management Unit (UPZ) , Submission of scholarships worth IDR 720,000,000 for UPZ fostered students and compensation for orphans worth IDR 10,000,000 from UPZ for the Az-Zahra Center Orphanage.
Deputy Main Director of Bio Farma, Soleh Ayubi, in his remarks said that with the increasing age of the company, all company employees must always be grateful for “delivering excellence”.
“We have a commitment to continue to provide the best for the community through products to improve public health status. Therefore, I encourage all Bio Farma employees to deliver excellence by working harder, with passion and discipline. We still have a lot of work to produce various products that can improve people’s health. We are grateful as Bio Farma employees for carrying out our duties properly by serving millions of people.
