CEIP Gumersindo Azcárate Wins School of the Year Award for Inclusive Education and Innovation

The jury that has awarded the School of the Year Award has highlighted “the use of the center of verifiable indicators in the evaluation of the achievements, such as the reduction of absenteeism, the improvement of school performance and the improvement in the participation of families” , the Foundation has informed in a statement.

The president of the jury for the School of the Year Award, Guillermo Sánchez, highlighted that they have decided to award the award to CEIP Gumersindo Azcárate for “the extension of its coexistence program to the entire educational community, for extending its projects to families, to their environment and a neighborhood with a disadvantaged population, and, therefore, for having a broad sense of inclusion”.

For his part, the secretary of the jury, Ousman Umar, has valued his “great work” and valued “its diversity, the integration of the family, the continuous training of its teachers, but above all the adaptation to technology with a purpose” .

TRAINING PLAN

Representatives of the Princess of Girona Foundation will make an official visit to the winning school where they will present the award, a sculpture by the artist Juan Zamora, Princess of Girona Arts and Letters Award 2017, which represents an open book, made of bronze with a slate patina.

The award will also be accompanied by a training plan and experiences in educational innovation developed by the Princess of Girona Foundation and the Ibercaja Foundation. Specifically, a Tool-kit will be offered to train emotional intelligence in the classroom.
