Literally: “During the air raid, the children were in shelter, the ceiling collapsed due to a burst pipe. Fortunately, no one was hurt. The school was built in 1981.
Parts are already being installed.
An investigative team and an examination will be carried out in the near future.”
Details: According to Tkachenko, he was in this shelter quite recently – immediately after its renovation, which was done with non-budgetary funds from a charitable foundation.
The KGVA added that this is a shelter for one of the schools in the Solomensky district. There the valve of the heating battery broke. This shelter was recently renovated and has since been inspected.
According to the head of the Kyiv City State Administration, the ceiling in this shelter is of the “Armstrong” type – with light slabs that quickly absorbed water and swelled: “Due to a significant increase in weight due to water, a segment of the suspended ceiling collapsed.”
No harm done. After the incident, a service inspection was appointed.
Literally KMVA: “Currently, the shelter is being examined and prepared for repair work. The contractor undertakes to eliminate the consequences of the accident by Monday morning. The work will be carried out for extra-budgetary funds.”
Minister of Strategic Industry Alexander Kamyshin later added that he decided to inspect the condition of utility networks in all shelters in Kyiv: “Start immediately. Finish by the end of the year.”
