Cedric Alexander scores his first singles win on television since 2021

The WWE wrestler, Cedric Alexander, is back on the winning track after securing a victory on the first night of The Great American Bash event NXT. The developmental brand celebrated the first week of its television special. One of the standout matches was Alexander against Brook Jensen.

Moments after winning the title, Dana Brooke defeated him, thus beginning a two-and-a-half-year streak without winning a match.

Last night’s match came together after Shawn Spears confronted Alexander while he was mentoring other NXT talent backstage. The Chairman downplayed the usefulness of the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion’s knowledge and shared that he was mentoring Jensen. Alexander responded that Spears can only influence weak-minded talent, leading to Jensen challenging him to a match on the episode.

Alexander and Jensen both had their moments in the match, with the talented NXT wrestler coming close to getting the win. However, Jensen hurt himself when he botched a leg drop attempt from the ring apron onto his opponent on the announce table. Alexander used his experience to take advantage of the moment and connect with his Lumbar Check to get the win.

Alexander reflected on her win in a backstage interview and joked with Spears that her teaching methods didn’t seem to have much of an impact on Jensen. She was also asked how it felt to be on the NXT rosterand the former main roster superstar expressed that he is enjoying it and plans to stick around for a while.

“It’s been an experience. It’s like going back to high school. You see a lot of new friends. You see a lot of old friends that you haven’t seen in a long time, and it’s nice to socialize with people every now and then. But yeah, I’m enjoying my time here, and I think I could stay here for a long time.“Alexander said.

With the arrival of Cedric Alexander to NXT, he hopes to add more victories and establish himself as one of the outstanding fighters of NXT. Since the dissolution of The Hurt Business, Alexander’s appearances on television have been few and without relevance.
