Čedok explains the sudden change of carrier for operational reasons.
There was an unexpected turnaround at the Čedok travel agency with plans for direct flights from Prague to exotic destinations. After yesterday’s ceremonial start of the winter season of direct flights with the Italian company Luke Air, the carrier will be changed today. Flights will be operated by the Polish state airline LOT with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
„On direct flights from Prague to exotic destinations, the carrier is changed for operational reasons. Today we will make the departure to the Maldives with the airline LOT Polish Airlines, which will deploy a Boeing 787 Dreamliner on our charters,“Confirmed Čedok spokeswoman Kateřina Pavlíková. Luke Air did not give specific reasons for the end. According to Pavlíková, it is possible that the Luke Air aircraft will return to these routes.
Cedok’s clients will thus get a more comfortable aircraft than the Airbus A330-200 Luke Air. The Polish dreamliner is also newer. LOT has two versions 787-8 and 787-9. The first flies for 255 passengers (213 economy class, 21 premium economy, 23 business). The longer version is for 294 passengers: 249 in economy class, 21 in premium economy and 24 in business class. “Our clients will fly to their holiday destination without a stopover and enjoy even greater comfort and other services on board this type of aircraft. In addition, there will be more seats in business class and now also seats in premium economy class, “ said Pavlíková. A smaller version of the 787-8 is planned in Prague today.
This year, Čedok is planning flights to the Dominican Republic, Zanzibar and the Maldives, and a few weeks ago it announced connections to Mexico and Kenya. Čedok will fly to each destination once a week.
