For four years, students from the College of Scientific and Technological Studies of the State of San Luis Potosí (CECyTE) have taken their classes in a rented building, which barely meets the basic requirements to be a school, which is why the request to have land where a campus can be built that meets the needs of the institution, a proposal that the Soledad de Graciano Sánchez city council is already analyzing.
This was recognized by the head of the Education Directorate in the municipality, Juan José Castro Castillo, who indicated that although there is a willingness to make a donation of land for the construction of the school, it is not an issue that depends on the city council, since that the Ministry of Public Education must also intervene, being a federal institution.
“In the case of the CECyTE that we have in Soledad, land has already been requested to be able to build a school, since they are currently in a space that is rented premises, they are an extension of a campus that exists in Escalerillas, however, although as The city council is in the best position to support, it does not depend solely on us, but on the SEP, which is the body that must intervene as it is federal,” said the official.
Who indicated that currently the campus meets the basic requirements for a school, especially in issues such as civil protection, however, he assured that it is constantly being monitored to ensure that it has optimal conditions to fulfill its function as a school.
Castro Castillo said that as an authority, what is sought is that the approximately 230 students that the campus currently has, have a decent space where they can take their classes daily, hence the interest in building a new campus.
Which he said must have its own password, so it must stop depending on another school, a procedure that he reiterated must be carried out by the SEP itself, which is responsible for the institution.
