Cecyte-Emsad and Union Reach Agreement, Ending Strike Threat in Tlaxcala

General Directorate Agreement of CECYTE-EMSAD and Cindicato sign; the outbreak of the Strike remains without effect

Tlaxcala, Tlax., September 18, 2023 (Editorial).-The head of the Ministry of Labor and Competitiveness (STyC), José Noé Altamirano Islas, stated that the state government headed by Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros strengthens labor well-being through conciliations with different labor organizations.

This was stated during the signing of the strike termination agreement between the College of Scientific and Technological Studies of the State of Tlaxcala (Cecyte-Emsad) and the Union of the Federation of Workers of Tlaxcala, a member of the Confederation of Mexican Workers (CTM). ) and the union section, with which the procedures on collective matters within the State Local Conciliation and Arbitration Board were concluded.

Altamirano Islas said that derived from the conciliation hearings held by the general director of Cecyte-Emsad, Norberto Cervantes Contreras with the substitute general secretary of the CTM, Eligio Chamorro Vázquez and the general secretary of the union section of the educational subsystem, Zenón Ramos Castillo , the procedures requested in 2019 and 2021 related to compliance with the collective contract on salary increases and benefits were completed.

He maintained that this agreement gives job certainty to workers, complies with labor regulations, promotes formal employment, decent work, the competitiveness and productivity of workplaces, but, above all, the comprehensive development of the worker.

“In the government of the state president, Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros, there is a very clear purpose which is to strengthen labor well-being, an issue that had been relegated for years and that today we are working to strengthen that work culture, where labor rights are respected. of both individual and collective workers,” he mentioned.

Meanwhile, the director of Cecyte–Emsad said that a willingness to dialogue strengthens academic tasks; while Chamorro Vázquez and Ramos Castillo thanked the facilities provided by the JLCyA to achieve agreements, demonstrating that unions are an important part of the public policy process.

As witnesses to the agreement were the Secretary of Public Administration, Eréndira Cova Brindis, and the Secretary of Public Education, Homero Meneses Hernández, who expressed that this action is the result of the humanist policies of the state and federal administration that seek collective benefits.

The president of the Local Conciliation and Arbitration Board of Tlaxcala, Joel Bonilla Gómez, also attended, as well as the administrative staff of Cecyte-Emsad and the aforementioned unions.
