Four years ago, Norwegian Cecilie Fjellhøy fell in love with a rich man named Simon Leviev. They met through dating app Tinder and it didn’t take long for them to meet. At the time, Fjellhøy allowed herself to be seduced by a man who seemed genuine and thoughtful.
Struggling: – I am very impressed
Unfortunately, Simon Leviev would turn out to be completely different than he thought. He is accused of having defrauded her out of staggering sums, and today he is over three million crowns in debt.
Along with other victims, she appeared in VG’s article “The Tinder Scammer”, and later also in the Netflix documentary “The Tinder Swindler”
The documentary
Now Fjellhøy is relevant again in the Israeli documentary which has the Norwegian title “The woman who brought down the Tinder scammer”. Here she faces Leviev, together with her ex-girlfriend Kate Konlin.
Fjellhøy can reveal to Dagbladet that he had absolutely no ambition to confront the crook.
From “Tinderswindleren” to “Luxusfellen”
– Confronting Simon was unplanned and something I decided to do at the last minute. It was mainly because I had never had the opportunity to talk to him since I realized he had scammed me, he says and continues:
– The fact that he is still free after scamming people and continues to scam people was very painful to see.
– He didn’t take it very well
Fjellhøy’s confrontation took place the same week Leviev was due to be in court. However, he didn’t show up and justified it by saying that he had the crown. He does not hide that it was nice to say something about him.
– It was actually an “experience outside of me”. I could see how angry Kate was. While I was laughing, it was kind of a good experience, she says and further explains:
Sex on Tinder: the dumbest men do it
– I can see how far I’ve come, I’m not afraid of him. She does that to so many, makes them afraid of him, afraid of the future they say… I hope she gets to where I am, that she isn’t afraid of him. It was terribly difficult for her and it was sad to see the difference in our reactions, he tells Dagbladet.
– How did Leviev take the confrontation?
– He didn’t take it very well. The TV producers thought she would talk to us. I wasn’t surprised when she tried to leave right away. She thinks she didn’t …
– He was probably angrier at Kate than at me, who managed to trick him there. He didn’t react to me, and he never did. He knows I’m the one he can’t stop, says Fjellhøy in conclusion.
Lviev has previously denied a number of fraud allegations, including against the Israeli website News 13.
– I am falsely accused of things I never did. But I’ve always liked the good life, I’m not going to lie, she explained to the site.
