/ world today news/ The CEC found a violation on the part of the KP “Union DOST” with an election clip campaigning in Turkish. This is clear from a reference on the CEC website. The commission has self-reported a violation of the rules for conducting pre-election campaigning in the elections for people’s representatives, scheduled for March 26, 2017.
During the official inspection carried out on March 11, 2017, it was established that two video materials related to the pre-election campaign in the elections for people’s representatives were published on the official website of the coalition. The two clips are identical, but the second one has embedded subtitles in a language other than Bulgarian.
According to the CEC, the sole purpose of the second clip is to conduct election campaigning in a language other than Bulgarian, which does not comply with the legal requirements of the Election Code, in particular the provision of Art. 181, para. 2, according to which the election campaign is conducted in Bulgarian. The CEC has decided to remove from the official website of the KP “Union DOST” the second pre-election clip with built-in subtitles in a language other than Bulgarian and stop the distribution of this audio-visual material in all media and in the Internet space.
