News - CEB approves €762 million in new loans to support small businesses, provide housing for low-income people and improve public infrastructure

The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) today approved seven new loans for an amount of 762 million euros to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (VSEs-SMEs) and to finance investments in the sectors of health, education, social assistance, housing for low-income people and public infrastructure.

The 100 million euro loan approved by the CEB in Cooperative Credit in France will be used to partially finance the construction and renovation of sanitary, medico-social and educational facilities. Priority will be given to those located in disadvantaged neighborhoods or in cities that lack urban infrastructure and social facilities and encounter difficulties in accessing long-term financing.

The final beneficiaries will be vulnerable populations, in particular the elderly, people with disabilities, children or adolescents in difficult family and school situations, and adults in precarious socio-economic situations.
