Ceasefire in Ethiopia’s Tigray region for food aid

This truce could be the tentative beginning of the end of this conflict. UN Secretary-General Guterres also expresses that hope, but this is very early. For example, it is not yet clear how the Ethiopian government will monitor this truce.

Last summer, the national government also announced such a ceasefire, but little came of it. The big difference with this file is that they agree to it now in Tigray, unlike last year.”
