The 4th hostage and prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas has been completed.
After Hamas released 11 Israeli hostages in the evening
Israel also released Palestinian prisoners, including 3 women and 30 children, at midnight.
Among the released prisoners, those living in the occupied West Bank left the Israeli Ofer Military Prison on a bus belonging to the International Red Cross Organization and went to Ramallah.
Israeli soldiers intervened with tear gas and live bullets against those who gathered in the town of Beitunya to welcome Palestinian prisoners.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that a Palestinian was killed as a result of fire opened by Israeli soldiers.
Raid on homes of Palestinian prisoners in East Jerusalem
Child captives living in East Jerusalem were also handed over to their families by Israeli police. Israeli police deployed around the houses of released Palestinian prisoners in East Jerusalem and set up checkpoints on the roads.
Israeli police, who raided the homes of some Palestinian prisoners, warned the families “not to hold any celebrations or gather at home.”
When 16-year-old Palestinian captive girl Nüfuz Hammad, a resident of East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah District, returned home after being detained in Israeli prison for nearly 2 years, her family could not hold back their tears of joy.
Hammad, who was sentenced to 12 years in prison for allegedly attempting to stab a Jewish settler in occupied East Jerusalem, did not accept the accusation against him.
Within the scope of the agreement reached between Hamas and Israel, 50 Israeli women and children prisoners were released from the Gaza Strip and 150 Palestinian women and children prisoners were released from Israeli prisons.
As a result of the mediation efforts carried out primarily by Qatar, Hamas and Israel reached an agreement on the release of 30 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for every 10 Israeli prisoners to be released from the blockaded Gaza Strip and to extend the temporary ceasefire in the conflict for 24 hours.
