O Ceará lost to CRB 2-0 this Friday, 6th, at the Rei Pelé Stadium, in Maceió (AL), for the 31st round of Series B of the Brazilian Championship. Anderson Leite and Léo Pereira scored the goals in Alagoas’ victory.

With the result, Vagner Mancini’s team remains with 42 points, occupying 11th place, but could lose position if Botafogo-SP beat Avaí this Saturday, 7th, at 5 pm (Brasília time).

The black and white team returns to the field on Saturday, 14th, at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), against Sampaio Corrêa. The match will be played at Arena Castelão, in Fortaleza (CE).

CRB x Ceará: the game

Ceará had another disastrous performance in Series B of the Brazilian Championship. Against CRB, Vagner Mancini’s team performed apathetically, showing a lack of connectivity between sectors, spacing in defense and, finally, offensive incapacity.

The team from Alagoas created the best chances of the match. After 17 minutes, he opened the scoring with Anselmo Ramon, after taking advantage of Lucas Lima’s finish after André Luiz left. The referee, however, ruled that Galo’s number 9 was offside.

The Ceará team responded with Jean Carlos and Saulo Mineiro, in the 23rd and 27th minutes, but they sent them out. At 32, Léo Pereira disarmed Tiago Pagnussat in the area and finished. The finish blocked by the defense fell to Anderson Leite, who finished in André Luiz’s corner.

The disadvantage on the scoreboard left Ceará more present in the offensive field, but without being able to hit Diogo Silva’s goal. Erick, Chrystian Barletta and Léo Santos had opportunities, but all the shots went wide.

Before the final whistle, at 47, CRB had the opportunity to increase the score with Anselmo Ramon, after Ramon’s throw and André Luiz’s exit hindered, who was unable to fit the ball. The number 9 finished, but the goalkeeper managed to recover the move and make the save. The referee, however, awarded a penalty alleging a touch on Léo Santos’ arm. After analysis by the VAR, referee Leonardo Ferreira Lima (PR) reversed the decision.

Upon returning to the 2nd half, another mistake marked Vagner Mancini’s Ceará: Tiago Pagnussat received it from Léo Santos, tried to pass to André Luiz, but passed it to Léo Pereira. Face to face with the black and white archer, the number 38 increased the score for CRB.

After the goal conceded, the black and white coach brought in Nicolas, Janderson and Pedrinho, but the team continued to be unproductive in the offensive sector. The best chance came in the 14th minute, with a free kick from Jean Carlos, which hit Diogo Silva’s post.

In the final stretch of the match, Ceará once again had another opportunity to score in the match, with Nicolas receiving a cross from Pedrinho and heading it towards Diogo Silva’s defense.

With the apathetic performance and inaccuracy in the attacking sector, Alvinegro recorded yet another defeat in Series B of the Brazilian Championship.
