CE and CM students from the village school recently went to sea class in Meschers-sur-Gironde in Charente-Maritime to discover the Atlantic coast. On the first day, after a trip that took place in a good mood, the schoolchildren had a picnic before settling down and discovering the accommodation center and its surroundings, between beach, cliffs, forest, walk on the coastal path, discovery of the Gironde estuary, the Atlantic Wall with its bunkers, squares and their fishing technique. This stay was rich in entertainment with the second day fishing on foot, discovery of the foreshore and its biodiversity before participating in a sand yachting session on the Nonnes beach. On Wednesday, introduction to the kite to study the strength of Aeolus and construction of traction wings. In the afternoon, discovery of the flora and fauna of the Suzac forest. Thursday was devoted to the study of the dune environment (dune formation, fixing flora, role in coastal protection). On Friday, the last day, visit Royan where the schoolchildren carried out a little investigation on this port and team games before taking the way back, their heads full of memories.
