CDU Request Shows Deterioration of Punctuality in Local Public Transport

According to a CDU request, punctuality in local public transport has deteriorated again.

In addition Richard Seelmaecker, transport policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group: “The attractiveness of buses and trains depends crucially on their reliability and punctuality. Red-green doesn’t do both! For all buses together (Hochbahn and VHH), the combined punctuality rate was 91.9 percent – a disappointing figure. The CDU Hamburg had already called for punctuality monitoring for Hamburg’s buses in 2021. However, the Senate rejected this idea. As a result, 377,000 bus trips were delayed and 49,000 trips were canceled completely. A modest result, especially for the people of Hamburg who rely on buses. The punctuality rate of the S-Bahn has also fallen compared to the previous year. Individual lines even had monthly values below 90 percent – bad news for the Senate! Even the subway is not spared from the red-green mismanagement: In short: the Senate again fails to make public transport more punctual and reliable.”
