CDMX Police invite you to adopt a rescued kitten

As part of International Cat Day, we tell you how you can adopt a cat rescued by the Mexico City Police (CDMX).

Before continuing, it is important to remember that a pet is not a toy or something disposable, as a pet could live more than 15 years. Therefore, the authorities of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) recommend taking the decision very seriously.

This is how you can see the catalog of cats available for adoption

In the country’s capital, the Animal Surveillance Brigade (BVA) of the SSC, which is in charge of animal protection, has a catalog of companion animals available for adoption (you can see it in this link).

Among the many rescued dogs, you can also find kittens looking for a home, such as Yamil, a 3-year-old male cat, and Tlali, a 2-year-old female.

What documents do I need to adopt a kitten rescued by the CDMX Police?

In order to participate in the program called “Sponsor a pet” You must comply with the following documents:

  • A copy of a valid official identification on both sides.
  • Copy of proof of address no older than 3 months.
  • In addition to this, adopters must be willing to provide love and care to the furry ones, since the costs of their maintenance will be borne by the citizens.

3 benefits of adopting a cat

Although cats are often thought to be very independent and cold, the truth is that they are very loving pets and, in some cases, dependent on their humans.

According to official figures, there are about 16 million cats in Mexico, but unfortunately 9 million live on the streets. That’s why we’re going to tell you about some of the benefits of having a feline at home:

  • They strengthen your immune system.
  • They help with stress, depression and anxiety problems.
  • They provide company and give love.
  • It is worth noting that there are 3 Cat Days, so you can celebrate your kitties more times a year.

The first is on February 20 (first celebrated in 2009), the second is on August 8 (first celebrated in 2002) and on October 29.
