The head of government, Claudia Sheinbaumassured that in the Mexico City It is contemplated to apply the doses of the Global Access Fund for Covid-19 Vaccines (Covax, for its acronym in English) to inoculate minors 5 to 12 years old in the capital of the country.

At a press conference, the president of the capital explained that Covax has vaccines to contribute to Mexico -through the federal government- so that at the time, the Undersecretary of Health, Hugo Lopez-Gatellwill announce the start of vaccination.

He indicated that they will count how many minors of that age range are able to get vaccinatedso that, at the right time, you can start with the inoculation.

“I have to see how many minors and how many would be able to be vaccinated; but it is important that the information is provided by the Mexican government, let us know if these vaccines arrive, when they would arrive and to be able to inform the population, ”he asserted.

In early April, the vaccine Pfizer was approved by the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) to be applied to children between 5 and 12 years of age.
