The Mexico City will partially reopen starting next Monday, after the authorities reduced the level of alert in epidemiological surveillance for the pandemic of Covid-19.
Claudia Sheinbaum, head of the Government of Mexico City, announced through a video on her social networks that the hospital occupation of the epidemic fell from 65% to 60% in the last week, so the traffic light will change from red to orange.
“We are going to open gradually and with strict sanitary measures. The pandemic continues,” said the president.
This reopening was initially scheduled for June 22, however, the trends, at the end of the week from June 15 to 19, did not allow the “transition week to the orange traffic light” to begin, as previously announced by the chief of government.

What does open at CDMX orange traffic light?
On Monday, Sheinbaum said, retail trade will resume with a capacity of no more than 30%, and with restricted hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
It will also allow the reopening of private and public sports, although, he reported, only for individual sports and outdoors, so the gyms will remain closed.
By Tuesday 30 the businesses of the Historic Center will be able to open, but in the same way with a capacity of 30% of their capacity, with the same hours from 11 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, hotels and restaurants will be able to return to their activities from Wednesday, the former may have a capacity of 30%, while the latter are allowed to cover up to 40%, as long as they have outdoor spaces .

On Thursday, July 2, street markets and markets will be reactivated, which should try to have more spaces between stalls and a single pedestrian flow. For Friday, and like other shops, hairdressers and beauty salons, they can open their businesses, but at 30% of their capacity and by appointment.
On Monday, July 6, the president said, they will be able to open department stores and shopping centers, also at 30% of their capacity.

He warned that in orange traffic lights, theaters and cinemas cannot operate, as well as museums, corporate offices, government offices that do not pay attention to the public, religious, educational services, party halls, canteens, bars, clubs, discos and events with public.
For those businesses that open, he said, it is established that employees and visitors use mouth masks, keep a healthy distance and carry out continuous hand washing with soap and water or antibacterial gel.
