CDMX breaks vaccination record against Covid-19

Again, in the Mexico City a record was broken in vaccination against COVID-19reported the local government.

Through a statement, the authorities reported that a total of 235,709 doses were applied this Friday, a figure that exceeds the last record set on February 19, when 210,671 vaccines were applied in the country’s capital.

“Another day of vaccination record: 235 thousand 709 vaccines applied in one day. Until a week ago we had never exceeded 200 thousand a day. In the last 6 days we have done it 5 times. Thanks to all the staff of the headquarters and the citizens who have attended,” wrote the Director of Digital Government of the Digital Agency for Public Innovation, Eduardo Clark.

On Friday, February 25, 42,756 doses were applied at the Torres Bodet Cultural Center; 24 thousand 242 in Palacio de los Deportes; 7,297 in the Weapons Hall; 32 thousand 380 in Campo Marte; 23 thousand 229 in Voca 7; 21,519 in the El Vergel Military Housing Unit; 17 thousand 805 in CENCIS-Marina; 15 thousand 706 in the National Institute of Genomic Medicine (INMEGEN); 40 thousand 331 in the University Olympic Stadium; and 10 thousand 444 in the Sports Milpa Alta.

Two locations were also able to break the barrier of 40,000 doses against COVID-19 applied in a single day: the University Olympic Stadium and the Torres Bodet Cultural Center.

At the end of the vaccination day for young people between 18 and 29 years of age, which continues this Saturday in nine of the 10 locations and 981 additional booster doses have been applied, it is expected to inoculate a total of 1.2 million people from this age range.

Between Monday, February 21 and Friday, February 25, a total of 981,000 people were immunized at the 10 vaccination sites: Monday, February 21, 116,752 doses were applied; Tuesday, February 22, 206 thousand 30 doses were applied; Wednesday, February 23, 216 thousand 527 doses were applied; Thursday, February 24, 205,982 doses were applied; and Friday, February 25, 235,709 doses were applied.

The application of the booster dose for young people between 18 and 29 years of age takes place this Saturday according to the initial letter of their first surname: S,T,U,V,W,X,Y,Z. People can go to any venue, with the exception of the University Olympic Stadium, which will remain closed this Saturday.
