A group of experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States (CDC) warned this Wednesday that there is a “probable association” between some inflammatory heart conditions in adolescents and young adults and the second injection of the vaccine against the covid-19, but stressed that it “rarely” happens.
In a regular meeting, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) explained that there have been some cases of myocarditis, that is, swelling of the heart muscle, and of pericarditis, which is the inflammation of the membrane that surrounds the heart.
