CDC Says The End of the COVID-19 Pandemic Depends on Humans, How come?

Jakarta

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Dr Rochelle Walensky cannot predict when a pandemic will occur COVID-19 will end. However, according to him this could depend on human behavior. How come?

“We have a lot of science today, we have a vaccine,” said Dr Walensky, quoted from CNBC International, Saturday (9/10/2021).

“What we can’t predict is human behavior. And human behavior in this pandemic is not helping us very well.”

Dr Walensky said it is not enough to fight this pandemic with immunity alone, especially against the Delta variant that dominates the world. That means, more protection is needed so that people don’t get infected COVID-19 again.

Although many have been vaccinated and have immunity, Dr Walensky said the Corona virus is very smart. Viruses can attack loopholes or people who don’t have protection.

“And the virus is not stupid, it will go there (attack people who don’t have protection),” said Dr Walensky.

“So your question hinges on how well we come together as human beings and a community to do the things we need to do to protect ourselves.”
