CDC issues travel notice for Costa Rica due to malaria outbreak in Limón and Alajuela provinces

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently issued a travel notice for Costa Rica due to a Plasmodium falciparum malaria outbreak in Limón and Alajuela provinces. Health officials advise travelers to seek guidance from a healthcare professional on antimalarial drugs and mosquito bite prevention measures prior to travel. Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by a parasite transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito. Subscribing to Outbreak News TV’s YouTube channel and seeking medical care immediately for symptoms such as fever, chills, sweats, headache, vomiting, or body aches are strongly advised.
