A new milestone marked the Hockey branch of the German Sports Club, after qualifying its under 14 and under 16 teams (Ladies), and under 16 (Men), to the National Final of the Five modality, which will be held on the 16th and November 17.
The German representatives of the aforementioned categories won their respective regional finals, while in First Boys and Under 19 Ladies, they took second place.
The head of Branch, Lucas Acuña, highlighted the growth that the “Five” specialty is showing. “This is a new modality, it has been played here since last year and it started internationally very recently in the youth Pan American Games, and it allows you to play without having a large number of players. We started last year and won the opening with the under 16 team,” he commented.
It will be the Penquista institution itself that will dress up to host, for the first time, these national finals. “A proposal was made to the federation to empower the regions and expand the sport; it seemed like a good opportunity to us. We are happy that the final is in our Region and in our club. We are preparing in the best way to win the tournament at the national level, hopefully more in some category,” Acuña said in this regard.
