CDA members plead for reconciliation attempt with resigned MP Pieter Omtzigt | Inland

Next weekend there will be a party congress in which members will vote on proposals. The agenda includes a hard-hitting report that denounces the party’s problems.

Thematic group CDA Midvoor has been able to obtain support from several provincial departments for the motion pleading for reunification with Omtzigt. The popular MP canceled his CDA membership in June after a critical piece by his hand leaked in which he denounced party culture. He will be installed in the House of Representatives this month as an independent Member of Parliament.

According to sources, Omtzigt does not feel like a return to his old party. He has been sick at home for several months and is working on his recovery.

A spokesperson for the party board could not comment on the content of the resolution. According to the spokesman, ‘hard work is being done on the preliminary recommendations for the resolutions’. They won’t be revealed until next week.
