CDA member Pieter Omtzigt is being replaced as Member of Parliament. Omtzigt, who has been at home for weeks with exhaustion, makes an appeal to the replacement scheme. That means that for the next 16 weeks someone else will take his place in the CDA faction.
Omtzigt tweets that his recovery is taking longer than he hoped and that it has not really been possible to get rest. “Both a number of plenary parliamentary debates that were just a bit too much about me and not about the very urgent problems of the Netherlands, as well as a long series of articles, performances and speculations in the media about me did not exactly give me any degree of peace”, he adds.
