Andrzej Sapkowski and CD Projekt Red are beloved by The Witcher fans. In two different mediums, they brought the character of Geralt of Rivia to life, but the two aren’t known for getting along.
Sapkowski even tried to sue the game developer because he believed he was misled into selling the rights to his IP in one go. As the game became a worldwide success, Sapkowski paid no royalties.
However, it now appears that this is all water under the bridge, as the author has visited CD Projekt Red’s headquarters. With more Witcher games on the horizon that will deviate entirely from Geralt, the developer may be looking for some advice on how to continue the world and the IP without the White Wolf.
Either way, it’s great to see two key parts of The Witcher’s success working together.
