CD Projekt RED Explains Why It Improved The Witcher 3’s Russian Dub

One of the features of the updated version of The Witcher 3, in addition to photo mode, improved graphics and more in-depth settings, is improved voice acting in Russian. In the next-gen version, characters no longer speak too fast or too slow.

Many gamers thought that in this way CD Projekt RED offers chances for its return to Russia, but it’s too early to rejoice. According to the Polish company, the reworked dub was ready in 2021, when the localization team was working on it.

According to a representative of CD Projekt RED, the company has not changed its position regarding the suspension of operations in Russia:

The localization team completed the work on the nextgen version at the end of 2021. We want to emphasize that, in accordance with our decision, we have stopped cooperation with Russia. We will continue to adhere to our position.

All Russian players complained about problems with voice acting. The dub actors claimed that the reason for speaking too fast or too slow was the mistakes of the sound engineers.

As for the Ukrainian dub, the issue of which has been very acute on Twitter in recent days, it may appear in CDPR’s games. The Polish developers have said that they have been working on this issue for a long time, but are not yet ready to share details or talk about anything specific.

The Witcher 3 Remastered is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
