In recent days, several rumors began to mount around the arrival of Cyberpunk 2077 in the Xbox Game Pass. Today, CD Projekt Red, the studio developer of the title, has clarified the situation. No, there are no plans to bring the next Polish AAA to Microsoft’s subscription service.
This is an “info” that you could read here and there: Cyberpunk 2077 could arrive in the Xbox Game Pass. However, going back to the origin of these rumors, it is difficult to see a clear statement from its author. In this case, this excitement comes from a tweet from Jeff Grubb, journalist at VentureBeat, who explained the limited interest in temporary exclusives if Microsoft confirmed the arrival of “big” multi games on the Xbox Game Pass. Because, in fact, for humans, there is more perceived value in allowing players to discover a title in a subscription they already pay, rather than depriving other gamers of a game as temporary exclusivity.
It makes too much sense. Time-exclusives didn’t do much for Xbox One. And why would it?

Cyberpunk 2077 is an incredibly ambitious game and, as such, it has benefited from a colossal development budget. Sales objectives are therefore also very important and it is essential for the company to be able to sell a maximum number of copies of its game as soon as it is released. Unless Microsoft agreed to sign a huge check, it therefore seems “logical” that CD Projekt Red is primarily oriented towards a classic commercialization of Cyberpunk 2077. The title will be available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on November 19 and will be compatible with new generation consoles. You will be able to play it on Xbox Series X from the console available and will benefit, in addition, from its optimization within the framework of the Smart Delivery, from the latter deployed by the developers.
