CD Projekt Red Considering Multiplayer Mode for “Cybertruck 2077” Sequel

CD Projekt Red, a well-known game development company, is considering adding a multiplayer mode to the sequel to its flagship title “Cybertruck 2077”, codenamed “Orion”. The company expects to have about 80 people working on the project by the end of the year, co-CEO Adam Badowski told Reuters. At the same time, co-CEO Michal Nowakowski stated that the company is considering adding multiplayer elements to the sequel to “Cybertruck 2077”, but did not disclose further details.

“Cybertruck 2077” was criticized for its release issues in the early days of its release. The original multiplayer mode was subsequently canceled, and the development team instead focused on repairing the work. However, it is conceivable that in the future, the multiplayer mode of the “Cyber Rebels” series may become a sci-fi version similar to the extremely popular “GTA Online”.

At present, we know very little about the sequel to “Cybertruck 2077”. However, CD Projekt Red’s narrative director Philipp Weber said last month that the new game may present a more ambitious branching storyline, which will depend on the life path players initially choose, such as the street children in “Cybertruck 2077”, Entrepreneurs and rogues. The game’s core gameplay decisions, such as whether to choose first-person or third-person perspective, are still being decided.

At the same time, CD Projekt Red is working hard to develop the next generation of “The Witcher” game. Badowski said the company hopes to have about 400 people working on the project, codenamed “Polaris,” by mid-2024. Analysts predict that the new Witcher game will launch in 2026 or 2027.

Regarding the sensitive topic of using artificial intelligence in game development, Nowakowski said CD Projekt believes that artificial intelligence “can help improve some processes of game production, but it cannot replace people.” Finally, Badowski insisted that CD Projekt has learned lessons from the release of “Cybertruck 2077” and now has better production processes. Badowski said, “We believe that in the future we will avoid the launch problems like “Cybertruck 2077” ”.
