In a gruesome incident that took place at Delhi’s Tihar jail, Tillu Tajpuriya, an alleged gangster who was behind the killing of Jitenger Gogi inside a Delhi court in 2021, was murdered by his rivals. The CCTV footage from the jail shows Tajpuriya being stabbed nearly 100 times by six men using sharp-edged weapons on his head, back, shoulders and neck. The attackers, who were part of the rival Gogi gang, climbed down from another floor using bedsheets to get to Tajpuriya’s cell. This attack is believed to be a revenge for the murder of Jitenger Gogi in 2021. Tajpuriya’s murder is the second case of violence and gang rivalry in Tihar jail within a month. In another incident, Prince Tewatia, a close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was killed by rival gang members. This incident highlights the growing trend of violence in the Indian prison system and the unchecked power of gangsters who continue to wreak havoc even behind bars.
