It’s official, C’Chartres Volley will play in Elite next season. The Eurelian club punched its ticket for the upper floor, this Sunday, April 30. While he fulfilled his contract by winning 3-0 at Angers, his runner-up Niort lost 3-2 at home against Saint-Renan, a surprise.
With a 3-point lead before the final day scheduled for May 7, the Chartres can no longer be overtaken by the formation of Deux-Sèvres, dominated in direct confrontations (3-0 for Chartres in the first leg, 3-2 for Niort on the way back).
“We really didn’t expect Niort to lose. We waited a few minutes after the end of our match and a volunteer gave us the info,” explained CCVB captain Rémi Cormier, who is living his second rise in three years with Chartres.

Chartres unfolds against Fleury and continues to race in the lead for the rise in Elite
In Angers, beaten 3-1 in the first leg, the CCV only trembled in the second set. But, after having dragged a delay conceded at the start (11-5), the Chartrains recovered at the end of the round to win 25-20.
There was much less suspense in the other two sets, which the Euréliens won 25-19 and asserting their superiority.
