C’Chartres Football between regrets and satisfactions after the draw in Granville: “Clearly there is frustration”, confides coach Pierre-Yves David

C’Chartres Football conceded a 1-1 draw at Granville on Saturday 13 November. Back in three points on this result, commented by the Chartrain coach Pierre-Yves David.

First goal for Arnaud Loris

An uncrossed head right next then a fetch above. Loris Arnaud failed to put in any match points in stoppage time, but, coming on in the 64th minute, the striker scored his first ever goal for the CCF eight minutes later, with a 9-metre strike from a discount of Aboubacar Diakhaby.

Having endured his woes for a long time, first in anticipation of qualifying and then with a minor thigh injury, the former professional didn’t need long to prove that he is another offensive asset for the CCF.

With his experience and qualities as a surface player, he could quickly become a regular in a squad that averages just over one goal per game.

“I already liked his entry in Évreux (0-1) last week. There he scores and creates chances. That’s a good indicator, Chartrain’s coach points out. He has a different profile from our other strikers, who are outfield players. If he manages to raise the cursor to the athletic level, we will have more complementarities and options. »

Eleven against ten, that wasn’t enough

For the third time this season, the CCF finished an eleven-on-ten game. But, like in Saint-Malo (0-0), and not like in Évreux, he didn’t know how to take advantage of it to pick up three points.

And, this time, he still had well over twelve minutes in numerical superiority to make the difference as Magassouba was sent off in the 24th minute, while the scoreboard scored 0-0.

“Look at Laval yesterday (Editor’s note: Saturday). They beat Valenciennes 2-0 nine to eleven. It’s never easy against a team that is made up of ten. Spaces are shrinking in front of the opposing surface…”, confides Pierre-Yves David.

Surprised on the break after the break, his team managed to equalise, but not to force the decision despite a large number of chances. “Clearly, there is frustration, PYD slips. We gave ourselves the means to win, we played a good game with many chances, including a crossbar, conceding very little. But sometimes we were impatient, we didn’t stretch the lines enough on a low boulder…”

Four points in two moves

In the two games since Pierre-Yves David took over from Jean-Pierre Papin as coach, C’Chartres Football has collected four points out of six.

“It’s true that there was room for improvement at Granville, but it’s not that bad after all, judges the Chartrain coach. We had two trips to negotiate, one of which was quite long and not easy here. Next, there are many areas for progress. »

The PYD is already looking to the rest of the championship with, after next weekend’s break, a series of three a priori affordable matches: against Beauvais, in Rennes, then against Blois.

“We will have to be ambitious and score a lot of points before going to Poissy for our last game before the break. I want us to give ourselves the means to continue. The Chartrain coach says he doesn’t look at the standings, a standings where the CCF appears in 6th place, ten points behind the leaders, but with one game more than many teams.

He prefers to concentrate on the match: “Today everything is not set up to aim for a certain level of performance. No work. “It is an intense week that awaits your players…
