C’Chartres Football: assistant coach Thierry Bocquet leaves the club

Absent Saturday 5 November in Évreux, Thierry Bocquet will not find the bench of C’Chartres Football, this Saturday 12 November, in Granville, during the tenth day of National 2. After the arrival of the new coach Pierre-Yves David, Jean-Pierre Papin the assistant agreed with the management to leave the club.

It’s official, Pierre-Yves David takes over from Jean-Pierre Papin on the C’Chartres Football bench

“I had come to support Jean-Pierre, a mission I could not refuse when I decided to end my career. For me it was like a Christmas present. From the moment he leaves, it seems logical to me too. If Pierre-Yves had really wanted to work with me, I would have thought about it. But that wasn’t the case and it could be better this way, “says the coach.

Arriving at the end of December 2021, just before a spectacular recovery of the CCF, the former coach of Versailles, Poissy or Beauvais leaves without bitterness after ten months in Chartres.

“JPP doesn’t start with failure”

“It will remain a small year of happiness to meet President Gérard Soler and JPP, who has become a friend. We must not forget that only a team that had an exceptional season prevented us from climbing last season. This year, given the staff problems, I would say that we have saved the furniture. The JPP does not start with a failure, it has taken the club to a new level, especially in terms of notoriety. It was extraordinarily lucky for Chartres to have him here. I was united, I tried to give him a broader reflection and I have always strengthened him in his choices. “

prize Back to the passage of Jean-Pierre Papin, beloved but controversial coach

At 63, Thierry Bocquet does not rule out a new challenge as an assistant of one size or as a number one, “but it must be a good project”.

In the meantime, he wishes full success at the CCF where Pierre-Yves David will rely on Robin Moreau, the physical trainer, and Adrien Gato, the goalkeeper coach.

“There is everything to be successful here with so many volunteers investing and a municipal sports policy that is unparalleled in France,” continues Thierry Bocquet. I really appreciated this dynamism and I took advantage of it. For ten months I have been more Chartrain than Chartrain! ”
