C’Chartres BM loses the 18th derby against Rueil and records an eighth defeat

If the two teams no longer had the possibility of titillating the leader Angers, whose rise in ProB has already been acquired since the last day, there was still a little at stake. For Rueil (with a balanced record in this second phase), it was a question of aiming for fifth place to have the advantage of the field until the quarter-finals. For Chartres, not to be “fanny” during this high hen, before finishing this calvary phase (7 defeats) by the receptions of Angers (1st) and Poitiers (2nd)…

The 18th derby of the name

Still deprived of leader Yann Siegwarth (ankle) and pivot Valentin Mukuna (knee), who should be operational for the play-offs, Chartres recovered, for this meeting against Rueil, the other pivot and captain, Patrick Clerence, restored from his hamstring injury. A significant additional weight in the racket to relieve the only interior still valid Mounir Bernaoui, due to a Federico Ucles (aponeurosis) not yet at 100%.

The suffering of the Chartrains experienced from the inside

This 18th derby between Rueil and Chartres – the CCBM led before this match 10 wins to 7 – started on a false rhythm and it was the Parisians who pocketed this unexciting first quarter (23-17, 10 ‘). But, after conceding three shots from Ricard (26-17, 11′), Chartres would wake up in the second act. Thalien and Bouloukouet sounded the charge and Sencanski, former Rueillais, found his bearings in a Stadium he knows like the back of his hand. And the CCBM went ahead thanks to a 12-2 at the end of the quarter (33-26, 16′ then 35-38, 20’).
On the resumption, Chartres did not weaken. On the contrary. Bouloukouet sprinkled, followed by Ucles, and the CCBM took a little thickness (41-47, 24 ‘). If, opposite, Racine and Doumbé allowed the RAC to stay in contact, Chartres kept the hand at the start of the last round (55-57, 30 ‘).

Chartres cracks in money-time

A round that would see the defenses tighten. Severely. Six points scored in six minutes (60-58, 36′)! If Chartres managed to hold the shock at the start of the money-time (65-65, 39 ‘), the address was going to wither and the RAC took advantage of it to establish their fifth success in high pool, confirming their victory of the go (79-74). For Chartres, the ordeal continues.
