C’Chartres Basket Masculin receives Vitré, match at the top of Pool A

Beaten in the first leg (85-75) in Ille-et-Vilaine, Chartres has no choice but to win against Aurore Vitré in order to start the second part of the season (high hen or Top 10) with three defeats on the clock, or even two if the Breton team were to come out of the Top 5 of Pool A. Tied with Toulouse, Vitré is ahead of the Haut-Garonne in the basket-average (+3). The ideal for Chartres is that Toulouse, beaten twice by the CCBM, finishes in the Top 5 of the pool…

But first, the men of Moatassim Rhennam must defeat Aurore, which gave them a hard time at the beginning of December. Chartres had held three and a half quarters (66-67) before conceding a 19-8 in the last five minutes. Vitré, coached by the Ébroïcien and former leader Fabien Calvez, does not have big individualities. But this team is complete in all lines and full of experience, like the leader Louis Prolhac (31 years old), the winger Tristan Pothion (30 years old) and the interiors Vincent Fandelet (30 years old) and Romain Grégoire (31 years old) who all know the division perfectly.

For its part, Chartres, which recovers the rear Yann Siegwarth, injured in the ankle, will be complete.

Chartres (halle Jean-Cochet), Tuesday February 14, at 8 p.m.
CCBM :
Pellin, Siegwarth, Doumbia, Bouloukouet, Ricard-Dorigo, Mbodj, Pencil (US), Christmas, Mukuna, Haidara.

Hugo Béquignon: a Dunois in Vitré

The Jean-Cochet hall should be busy tonight. Not just because it’s the holidays and it’s a Top 5 match. Supporters from Saint-Denis-les-Ponts are expected to support Aurore Vitré winger Hugo Béquignon. The one who will celebrate his 22nd birthday in April already has behind him… 20 years of basketball. It was in fact at the age of 2 that he started practicing and, after thirteen seasons in the Pontois club (which will merge with Châteaudun to give the Entente Basket Sud 28), he joined his brother in Saint- Ouen, near Vendôme (Loir-et-Cher), before being spotted by ADA Blois. During his third season, he discovered the high level by sitting on the bench of the ProB, in the leaders Cup and in the Coupe de France. Then to know a double consecration in 2021-2022: champion of France hopes and ProB. For his first professional season, with Vitré, the young winger has 9.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists in 22 minutes for an 8.9 rating.
