CCE expresses outrage over the murder of Julio Almanza in Tamaulipas

Mexico City. One day after the murder of businessman Julio Almanza Armas, the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) expressed its “deepest indignation at the growing insecurity affecting Mexico,” particularly economic activity.

After issuing an obituary for the death of the former president of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce (Fecanaco) of Tamaulipas, the umbrella organization of the private sector considered that it is “a great loss for the business community,” as well as for those who worked alongside him in promoting economic development in the region.

“We express our deepest indignation at the growing insecurity affecting Mexico, especially businesses and the families that depend on them, who only seek to contribute to the country’s progress,” he said.

In response to this crime, he strongly called on the authorities to ensure that this act does not go unpunished and to intensify efforts by all three levels of government to guarantee security and peace in the country.

He stressed that “Mexico’s development and prosperity depend largely on a secure environment, which is essential for economic dynamism and attracting new investments.”

He said that it is imperative that urgent and effective measures be taken to protect all citizens and ensure a safer and more prosperous future.

Almanza Armas was deputy secretary at the Confederation of Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco) and vice president of Binational Strategic Affairs at the same private sector organization.

He also owned pharmacies, was a businessman in the real estate leasing sector, and owned businesses in the import and export of products.
