*CC orders protesters to be evicted from MP headquarters*

The plenary session of Magistrates of the Constitutional Court (CC) ordered the eviction of protesters who prevent access to the headquarters of the Public Ministry (MP). This within a period that does not exceed six hours. But also, capture those involved in flagrant crimes.

Given the complaint of the MP for non-compliance with what was ordered by that constitutional court to guarantee free movement, the magistrates ask the Ministry of the Interior and the National Civil Police (PNC): “Execute the pertinent actions and measures to restore public order” .

In addition, “enable full access to the headquarters of the Public Ministry. From this account it seeks to ensure the physical integrity of workers and users, which must be done within a period that does not exceed 6 hours.”

In the resolution they order the PNC to proceed with the capture of those involved in the commission of flagrant crimes. They also ask the Ministry of National Defense to provide assistance if strictly necessary and at the request of the questioned authorities.

“The authorities directly in charge of security are warned that, in any situation in which demonstrations are announced or in the middle of them, they protect the facilities of all the state bodies in charge. Both from the administration of justice and from others who provide essential public services,” the statement details.

In the ruling issued by the CC, the former Minister of the Interior, David Napoleón Barrientos, is also ordered to be investigated. This is for failing to comply with what they have ordered, but they also warn the current authorities that they must comply with the order or they will also be separated from the expensive “ipso facto.”

It is worth mentioning that the largest concentration of protesters is in the west of the country. And now in the surroundings of the Prosecutor’s Office building in the Gerona neighborhood, where citizens of indigenous peoples, students and vendors from different markets have come to demonstrate.

The new order is issued by the CC hours after the resignation of Minister of the Interior Barrientos was accepted. And, in his place, the lawyer and retired military man Byron Bor Illescas was appointed to the position. He is the one who will have to comply with the provisions of the robes.
