CBI closes investigation in Jesna disappearance case due to lack of evidence

Thiruvananthapuram – The CBI has closed the investigation in the Jesna disappearance case which caused a stir. The CBI told the court that Jesna could not be found and there was no evidence of what happened to Jesna. The CBI told the court that it cannot proceed without getting crucial information.

Jesna, a second year undergraduate student of Kanjirapally SD College, has been missing since March 22, 2018. On March 23, Vechuchira police of Pathanamthitta district registered a Jesna case. Even when the local police and then the crime branch investigated the case, they could not find the suspect behind the disappearance.

The case was investigated by IG Manoj Abraham at several stages, but could not make any significant leads. There was a situation where a reward of up to five lakh rupees was offered for those who found Jesna. Many people came forward to announce that they had found Jesna, but on investigation it was clear that it was not Jesna. Following the petition filed by Jesna’s brother Jace John James, KSU leader Abhijith and others, the investigation of the case was handed over to the CBI.
