The CBF obtained this Monday the approval for the distribution of vaccines between players and players of Serie A and A1 of Brazilian football, which includes male and female teams. The list with the names of all athletes has already been sent by the Ministry of Health to the state secretariats. And the clubs are waiting for confirmation this Tuesday.
In this way, part of the doses that had been donated by Conmebol, most of which have been dammed for general population immunization, may be absorbed. The teams had to send a form to the CBF indicating that they would like to receive the load of the Chinese Coronavac vaccine, obtained by Conmebol.
Most clubs indicated that they await receipt and filled out the form for submission to the Ministry of Health.
Among them, Flamengo. Everton Ribeiro, red-black midfielder, was one of the few players who appeared taking his dose by age, and promoting it on social networks. The club had three recent cases of Covid-19: Renê, Thiago Maia and Gustavo Henrique. Another athlete who became known for his vaccination initiative was Nenê, from Fluminense, who is 40 years old. The Laranjeiras club was the other carioca who joined the vaccination queue.
Distribution
After sending the doses, it will be up to each club to define which professionals will receive the vaccines. The men’s teams will receive 140 doses — for 50 players entered in the national competition and for 20 members of the coaching staff — and the women’s teams, 100 — 30 athletes and 20 members of the commission.
In total, Conmebol sent more than 20 thousand doses to the Brazilian government. Of these, around 5.5 thousand were set aside for football professionals in the A and A1 Series of the Brazilian Championship. The remaining 14.5 thousand were incorporated, as a counterpart, by the National Immunization Program (PNI) for the rest of the population.
