Cazères. The blood donor association mobilized during the summer

The essentials No vacation for illnesses and accidents. In summer, the need for blood does not stop.

The Cazères blood donor association is calling on donors to participate in the next collection day, which will take place on Friday, August 9, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Michel Bon community center: “Dear residents of Cazères and the surrounding area, and dear vacationers. Your blood donation is a precious gift that can offer a second chance to those who desperately need it. By participating in the collections organized in Cazères four times a year, you become a true hero of the community, bringing hope in the most difficult times. We thank you for your support and generosity.” Many people are able to donate blood.

As a reminder, you must be between 18 and 70 years old, weigh at least 50 kg, be in good health and have eaten and drunk well before donating. Professionals from the French Blood Establishment (EFS) will be present to accompany you at each stage, thus ensuring your safety. “To make a donation, make an appointment on the EFS website: dondesang.efs.sante.fr/trouver-une-collecte/96713/sang and show up at the Michel Bon room at the chosen time. The process is quick and easy: upon arrival, you will be greeted by the volunteers of the association and the EFS team who will check your identity (don’t forget your photo ID). You will fill out a pre-donation questionnaire and have an interview with a doctor.

If no contraindications are highlighted, you will proceed with the donation. After the donation, you can relax in our recovery area and enjoy a snack prepared with local products by the volunteers of the Cazères blood donor association. Giving blood is one of the noblest and simplest gestures to help your neighbor. Every drop you offer can make a difference for patients with serious illnesses, accident victims or women in labor. Your donation can truly save lives.
