Kevin Love scored all his points in the second half to guide a new victory for the Cleveland Cavaliers against Erik Spoelstra’s Miami Heat 94-105.
The veteran power forward had 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 of 8 triples in just 23 minutes of play, and the Ohio team continues to be sweet with their fourth consecutive victory, being the East quarterfinals with a 17-12 record.
“We are only living in the moment, but our large-scale goals are at the end of the year,” Kevin Love told The Associated Press. “Two things we do very well are competing and playing defense. And offensively, it is what this team has, that anyone at any time can achieve it, “he explained.
Four other Cavaliers players would contribute double digits: Isaac Okoro (18); Jarrett Allen (17); Darius Garland (16) and Lauri Markkanen (12). In addition, Ricky Rubio reached 5,000 assists in the NBA with his 7 goals and 7 basket passes.
“Kevin Love is guiding us right now. We all know their commitment and their relationship with this team, ”said coach JB Bickerstaff.
Likewise, Kyle Lowry had 22 points under his belt, and reserve Tyler Herro was somewhat more restrained with 12. Erik Spoelstra’s men saw a two-game winning streak come to an end and are currently 16-12.
“To be honest, we haven’t communicated very well on defense tonight,” Lowry admitted. “That has killed us, but scoring 94 points is not enough,” he added.
